Shape Survival is a free geometry-based roguelike survivor made by Voltage Goblin.
The game runs in a browser and puts you in control of a shape surrounded by waves of hostile shapes. Staying alive means continuing to move, using your ability at the right moment and choosing upgrades as the run becomes more demanding.
The idea is easy to understand. The difficult part begins when the play area gets crowded and a simple movement decision suddenly matters.
How Does Shape Survival Play?
A run starts with direct control of the player shape.
Hostile shapes enter in waves and reduce the amount of safe space around you. Standing still is rarely a good plan. You need to keep reading the field and move before the next threat closes off your route.
You also have an active ability. It gives you another way to respond when movement alone is not enough, but timing matters. An ability used too early may not help when the screen becomes more dangerous.
Upgrades change how the run develops. They give you more to consider than repeating the same movement pattern from beginning to end.
The basic loop is:
Move away from hostile shapes.
Watch the space around you.
Use the ability when it can help.
Survive the current wave.
Gain upgrades.
Adapt to the next wave.
What Kind of Game Is It?

The roguelike element comes from the run-based structure and upgrades. It is not a traditional turn-based dungeon roguelike.

Goblin Coins are available as an optional currency intended for cosmetics and selected unlocks. They are not required to play the core game.
The Goblin Coins payment and fulfilment process is still being tested. Until live fulfilment is confirmed, payments are treated as donations supporting development and testing.

Shape Survival is made by Voltage Goblin, an independent studio creating original browser games.
Voltage Goblin also develops Neon Cascade, a block-stacking score game with a 12 × 22 grid, special pieces, bombs and an overheating heat gun.
